Computational Design / Engineering

A relatively new interdisciplinarian paradigm for the development of products or systems.  The field represents the convergence of traditional branches of Design and Engineering with the growing branch of Computer Science. The approach leverages the application of computational models or simulations often coupled with high-performance computing to solve complex problems, search entire solution domains, extend capabilities, or iterate typical design loops in less time.

Dimensional Management

A systemic process and methodologies that considers the entirety of the product and manufacturing eco-system to make both robust to variation for improved build quality and inter-changeability. It recognizes that the development for a modern product launch includes not only the design of the product, but also the design of  the manufacturing processes and assembly methods to make it.

Advanced Product Development

The process of identifying consumer un-met needs, problem areas, or pain points and developing solutions which are desirable, business viable, technically feasible, and legally defensible. Maturing and optimizing solutions into real world inventions that are empirically verifiable, conceptually robust, and risk reduced.

Basic Engineering Analysis

The leverage of engineering math models to aid the design and development of the design process or supply feedback about inherit risks therein.

Design for Six Sigma

A product development approach that integrates the tools and methodologies of Systems Engineering, Six Sigma, and Lean Engineering principles. The process differs from transactional Six Sigma as it seeks to invent the robust system solution rather than optimize or improve an existing one. DfSS follows the IDDOV (Identify, Define, Design, Optimize, Verify) iterative process rather than DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control).

Analysis / Simulation

Leveraging computational numerical method analysis solutions to simulate or conduct complex engineering modelling or simulation.
